Shizen means naturalness, harmony with nature, and a spontaneous life, inviting simplicity, authenticity, and connection with the world. ℹ️

THE HOTEL OF WELLNESS

Word: Shizen (自然)

Origin: Japanese

Meaning

The word shizen means “nature” or “the natural,” but in Japanese philosophy and aesthetics, it encompasses the idea of naturalness, harmony with the environment, and the spontaneous flow of life without human interference.

It signifies a deep connection with the world as it is, free from artificial intervention.

Shizen expresses the essence of living in harmony with nature and with oneself — effortlessly, authentically, like water flowing without resistance. It is a philosophy that invites us to return to simplicity and to appreciate the authentic beauty of the world.

“Shizen: Flow without force.”
